About Us

The Montreal Art Center and Museum is a not-for-profit community arts hub, proudly supporting local artists since 2010. Located in the historic patrimonial building at 1844 William Street in Griffintown, originally built in 1879, our center serves as the creative home to hundreds of member artists, offering over 50 open and private studio spaces, along with additional spaces for Ceramics Club members.

Our mission is to support, assist, and promote locally based visual and performing artists. We recognize the challenges faced by professional artists on their career paths and are committed to providing a strong, collaborative community for emerging, amateur, and hobby artists. Through our various membership programs, we foster friendships, cultivate strategies, and continuously work to enhance the development and skills of our artists.

Since our founding, the Montreal Art Center has hosted over 200 art exhibitions, showcasing and offering for sale thousands of works to the Montreal public. Each year, we proudly present important art exhibitions, musical performances, lectures, and cultural events, all aimed at helping our local artists thrive.
