Meet the Curator: Jasen Loughlin

Driven by a deep passion for cinema, Jasen Loughlin has dedicated over 13 years to the video production industry as a freelancer, crafting powerful visual stories that explore emotion, color, and the art of filmmaking. Splitting his time between Montreal and New York, Jasen has built a career collaborating with like-minded creatives, driven by a love for filmmaking that transcends mere work—it’s a lifelong pursuit.

As the producer of the Montreal 48 Hour Film Project, Jasen is deeply invested in fostering the local film community, giving back to the city that has embraced him as one of its own. His journey has been shaped by inspiring mentors, and now, as curator of the Montreal Art Center and Museum Cinema Club, he’s committed to creating a dynamic space for filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts. He will host cinema nights, networking events, and mentorship opportunities for emerging filmmakers.
Each month, the club will showcase a feature film, recommended watches, and discussions, cultivating a community united by a shared love for cinema.
