Stella Papadopoulos

Before becoming an artist/entrepreneur, Stella Papadopoulos worked for a crown corporation in small business financing, as well as in the family fashion accessory manufacturing business. In 1999 she began courses in Fine Art at John Abbott College, and later completed a diploma in Illustration & Design at Dawson College. She has been associated with Children’s Literature since 1999 and many of her early works were meant for children’s picture book illustrations.

Now she is dedicated to creating a new body of art here at the Montreal Art Centre. Her medium of choice is watercolour and is looking forward to continuing her study and developing her skills. This medium captivates her because it is rarely predictable. “There is a beauty in the interaction of water with paint once it touches the paper that creates an effect like no other.” Recently she explored Chinese Brush Painting as a new and exciting art form.
