There must be no limits to the themes. No subject is out of reach from thought. Self-censorship must be eliminated, or at least reduced.  Therapy through art consists of recuperating the intense, troubling or scary thoughts and emotions. Through the process of expression, I end up masticating thoroughly these thoughts and emotions. I masticate them, until I spit them on paper, or any other support, or in any other way, enough that they lose their shocking nature. I am then free to observe and interpret them for what they are, and not what they inspire in comparison with exterior values and norms. Accept all mental phenomena as normal and, in and of themselves, inoffensive. The artistic process generally precedes this acceptance. In this way, use dreams, hypnagogic states, depressive states, acute stress states, or any other variations of the mental climate as direct inspirations. Art is an effective toilet paper for the mind. The urgency to express must be quenched. A priori, it is not necessary that an observer understand a piece, because I made it for myself and I did not necessarily infuse the piece of a conscious meaning.
