We invite you to a special evening on Friday March 3rd, for a performance by the MBA Trio, The Trio is a Irish/Quebecois amalgam focusing on folk and traditional music. You will enjoy our private members club with our intimate bar and lounge, which is open for pre-show and after show cocktails.
Manolo first started playing the violin at the age of 6 when his parents signed him up for music lessons at a local school and where he took classical lessons for the next seven years. While a student at the University of Montreal, he fell in love with traditional French Canadian fiddle music while attending jam sessions in local establishments. From this point onwards, he learned many traditional Quebecois and Irish tunes and also got to know many of the musicians who are active in the Montreal music scene. He can be frequently found in jam sessions all around Montreal perfecting his technique and furthering his knowledge of the wonderful world of fiddle music while simultaneously finishing his degree in Classical Trumpet Performance at UQAM.
Guitarist and composer Brett Vachon comes from a musical family and has been playing guitar since the age of 8. Studying guitar while growing up, he also played viola in string ensembles and orchestras as well as participating as a French horn player in concert bands, orchestras and musical theatre pit bands. His knowledge of these instruments and his varied musical background gives him a unique approach to musical accompaniment, composition and teaching. He graduated from the University of Montreal in 2010 with a Bachelor of Guitar Performance and enjoys playing a variety of musical styles including folk, fingerstyle and classical music.
